In Dams
Small fish feed on plankton (microscopic plant and animal life) which is present in all dams. Larger fish feed on insects, insect larvae, tadpoles, frogs and yabbies. No supplementary feeding is required. Tips for making your dam more productive are provided when you purchase your fingerlings.
If you wish to accelerate the growth of your fish, however, it is possible to feed them fish pellets. This formulated fish diet is available in various grades from Glenwaters Native Fish Farm and should be used for best results. Make sure that you feed your fish in the same area each day.
Small Ponds & Aquariums
Fish in small ponds, swimming pools and aquariums offer little in the way of natural food and supplementary feeding is necessary.
